Iran's cement output reached 29.504 million tonnes in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 - August 22).
Some 32.378 million tonnes of clinker was also produced in Iran during the mentioned period, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on September 3.
Iran produced some 5.608 million tonnes of cement and 6.6 million tonnes of clinker in the fifth calendar month (July 23 - August 22).
Nearly 23.351 million tonnes of cement was supplied to domestic market in the mentioned five-month period.
Iran's cement output amounted to 69.68 million tonnes in the twelve-month period which ended on March 20.
Some 71.904 million tonnes of clinker was also produced in the mentioned period.
Iran exported 18.812 million tonnes of cement and clinker in the mentioned 12-month period, which shows 37.8 percent increase compared to its preceding year.
Cement accounted for 14.348 million tonnes of the mentioned amount.
Some 55.622 million tonnes of cement was also consumed domestically in the mentioned period.
Iran with total production of 65 million tonnes ranked as the world's third largest cement producer in 2012.
Former Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari said in August 2012 that the country's cement production capacity will reach 110 million tonnes by 2015.
