Turkmenistan is interested in the purchase of construction materials from Kazakhstan, KAZNEX INVEST Managing Director Askar Arynov told Sept. 4 on the results of the 6th International Turkmen Construction 2014 construction exhibition held in Ashgabat.
"Construction worth more than $40 billion is underway now in Turkmenistan, according to the analytical data. Great opportunities for the promotion of domestic construction materials on Turkmenistan market open up," Askar Arynov said.
On the results of the exhibition the issue of supply of plastic and aluminum profiles, cables, air conditioning systems, fixtures, paint products of Kazakhstan is being considered, he said.
Export of Kazakh construction materials to Turkmenistan in 2013 increased by almost two times compared with 2012 and reached $28 million.
The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $393 million in 2013, which is 26 percent more compared to the same period in 2012, according to official data.
Export of Kazakh products to the market of Turkmenistan in 2013 amounted to $175.4 million, which is 35 percent more compared to 2012. In particular, the processed products have been exported in the amount of $155.3 million.
KAZNEX INVEST National Agency for Export and Investment JSC was created in 2010. The agency is the national operator of the development and promotion system of non-oil exports and a specialized state-owned company on attraction and work with foreign investors. KAZNEX INVEST is funded by the national budget and renders its services on a free of charge basis.
