The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced some 4.96 billion cubic meters of gas in January-August 2014 compared to 4.76 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2013, SOCAR said Sept. 22.
SOCAR develops the Azer-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and Shah Deniz gas condensate field jointly with foreign investors.
SOCAR produced some 7.31 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013, compared to 7.46 billion cubic meters in 2012.
The country produced around 20.44 billion cubic meters of gas in January-August compared to 20.62 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2013, SOCAR said.
Azerbaijan produced some 30.78 billion cubic meters of gas in 2013 compared to 29 billion cubic meters in 2012.
Azerbaijan will produce 28.8 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014, according to the forecasts.
SOCAR includes Azneft (companies producing oil and gas offshore and onshore), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas production associations.
Moreover, the State Oil Company comprises a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
