By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan increased crude steel production by 18.2 percent in January-September 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to Kazakh Statistics Committee.
Steel production hit 2.97 million metric tons in the reporting period.
Ferroalloys production increased by 0.6 percent to 1.267 million metric tons, flat-rolled products - by 17.1 percent to 1,916 million metric tons, galvanized rolled steel production - by 6.7 percent to 407,000 metric tons.
Kazakhstan's tin and tinned steel sheet production decreased by 10.6 percent to 65,000 metric tons in January-September 2014.
