A top Hungarian official is preparing to visit Iran after 15 year.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó will visit Iran on May 18, IRNA reported Friday.
According to the report, Iran's ambassador to Hungary Mohammad-Reza Morshedzadeh met with the deputy of Szijjártó to discuss the bilateral issues on the eve of foreign minister's visit to Tehran.
Promoting politic and economic relations are in the trip agenda, the report says.
Iran launched an international oil and gas exhibition last week in which Hungarian companies took part.
János Gidai, the executive director of Hungary's Ganzair Compressortechnics Company said May 10 that Iran has huge oil and gas reserves, is a very safe country and enjoys a very favorable geographical location that makes it a suitable trade partner for Hungary.
Speaking to Iran Daily on the sidelines of the 20th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition of Iran, he added his visit to Tehran expo was aimed at expanding cooperation with Iranian oil and gas companies.
