If the employees of the Renault branch continue striking in Turkey, the company may reconsider the amount of its investments in the country, the director of the Renault group of companies in Europe, the Mediterranean region and Africa, Jean-Christophe Kugler said, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported May 21.

He said that the company is interested in cooperation with Turkey and considers the country's market as promising.

Earlier, the employees of Tofas and Renault automobile companies went on strike in Turkey.
Some 5,000 Renault cars and more than 3,000 Tofas cars were not assembled in Turkey for five days.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkish Tofas announced on May 18 about reducing the cost of its shares by 4.42 percent.

Turkey ranks sixth in the car production in Europe with Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN brands assembled in Turkey.

Turkey also manufactures domestic brand buses, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.

As of 2014, Renault car sales in Turkey amounted to 15.3 percent of a total sales volume.
