Azerbaijan and Argentina signed an agreement on technical cooperation, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry said Sept. 23.

During the meeting, Mustafayev stressed the successful development of Azerbaijan-Argentina relations, the importance of mutual visits and the activity of the working group on trade and economic cooperation in the development of relations between the countries.

Mustafayev said the two countries have broad opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals.

Mustafayev also informed the guest about the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands. He once again reminded that Armenia's aggressive policy hampers the development of the region.

The minister stressed that the government of Argentina must take appropriate measures to prevent the activity of Argentina's companies in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

Zuain also stressed broad potential for developing the cooperation in various spheres. He stressed the importance of the Azerbaijan-Argentina Working Group in the development of relations between the countries, as well as the need of organizing the meetings of entrepreneurs of the two countries as part of this meeting. Its meeting will be held in 2016.

According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Argentina amounted to $10.69 million in January-August 2015, which is almost 62 percent more than in the same period of 2014.
