Turkey intends to compensate the cost of air service for tourists from Azerbaijan, the Turkish Borsagundem newspaper said Sept.28 with reference to the ministry of culture and tourism of Turkey.

Turkey is going to pay for fuel for the transportation of tourists by planes. The payment will amount to $6,000 per plane.

Along with Azerbaijan, Ankara is also intended to compensate the cost of transportation of tourists by planes from such countries as Russia, Iran, Ukraine, Moldova, Tajikistan, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

Earlier, Turkey's economy minister, Nihat Zeybekci said the country would do everything possible to increase the number of Russian tourists in 2015. He added that the deterioration of relations of several European countries with Russia is a chance to attract Russian tourists to Turkey.

Earlier, the Turkish Statistical Institute said that in the second quarter of 2015, Turkey's revenues from tourism fell sharply compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter of this year, Turkey's tourism revenues decreased by 13.8 percent and amounted to $7.733 billion.
