Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 6
Trend:
A new stage has begun in the reconstruction of the Azerbaijani railways, Nadir Azmammadov, spokesman for the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, told Trend.
A 600 kilometer-railway section in the direction of Baku-Boyuk Kesik will be overhauled.
He said that the work is being conducted by the newly established specialized railroad department No 5 under the Azerbaijani Railways CJSC.
The overhaul began at a railway section of the Bilajari station.
An agreement was signed with the Czech contractor of the Azerbaijan Railways - Moravia Steel company to implement the second phase of the Azerbaijani railway reconstruction project on April 14, 2015.
The agreement is a supplement to the export contract on logistics and overhaul of a 600-kilometer Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway section.
The company repaired a 317 kilometer Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway section in December 2013. The work was carried out as part of the "State program on development of the Azerbaijani railway system in 2010-2014" through a loan worth 215 million euros allocated by the Czech "Exim Bank".
