Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) neared $12.121 billion from Jan.-Sept., 2015, or 25.8 percent less than in the same period last year, the Statistics Committee of the country's National Economy Ministry said.

During the reporting period, Kazakhstan's export to EEU countries dropped by 29.2 percent and totaled $3.836 billion. This is while the country's imports from EEU member states has fallen by 24.1 percent, standing at $8.285 billion.

Russia is the leader among the EEU countries in terms of the volume of trade turnover with Kazakhstan. This country's exports to Russia stood at a value of $3.375 billion from Jan. to Sept. 2015, or 30.5 percent less than in the same period in 2014.

This is while Kazakhstan's imports from this country fell by 23.3 percent, totaling $7.764 billion during the reporting period.

Kazakhstan primarily exports mineral products, with 47.4 percent of exports being made to EEU countries; followed by chemical products, 18.5 percent; metals and metal products, 16.8 percent, and so on to the countries of the EEU.

It imports machinery and equipment, 29.8 percent of total imports; mineral products, 14.6 percent; metals and metal products, 14.5 percent; chemical products, 14.4 percent, and other goods from EEU countries.
