The Turkmengaz State Concern in Turkmenistan carries out production drilling in accelerated manner at the Galkynysh gas field, the reserves of which exceed 26.2 trillion cubic meters, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
Five high performance units capable of drilling to a depth up to 7,000 meters have been bought, according to the newspaper.
The Turkmengaz State Concern in a short time commissioned eight high producing wells in the field. Seven production wells have been prepared for a test, drilling of another 13 wells continues. Another ten production wells will be commissioned by late 2016.
"The large-scale development of the Galkynysh field is topical in the context of implementation of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India Natural Gas Pipeline) Project, the construction of which (on the Turkmen section) is carried out by Turkmengaz State Concern," the newspaper said.
