In January-July 2016, Azerbaijan produced construction materials worth 188 million manats (1.6204 AZN/USD on Aug. 19), which is by 21.3 percent less than in the same period of 2015, said a report of the country’s State Statistics Committee.
During the period, the country produced 1.283 million tons of cement (20.8 percent decrease during the year), 75,200 tons of gypsum plaster (30.2 percent decrease), 284,200 tons of ready-mix concrete (53.6 percent decrease), 36,500 cubic meters of prefabricated concrete building structures (2.9 times increase), 3,110 tons of processed marble, travertine, alabaster and products made from them (56.9 percent decrease), 35,030 tons of construction blocks and bricks of cement, artificial stone and concrete (60 percent decrease).
In July 2016, the average salary of workers employed in the production of construction materials was 561.3 manats, which is by 0.5 percent more than in the same period of 2015.
