Positive balance of Uzbek foreign trade turnover up by nearly 20 times

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 10.9 percent and reached $26.96 billion in 2017 as compared to 2016, the country’s Ministry for Foreign Trade told Trend.

In particular, exports increased by 15.4 percent up to $13.954 billion, imports – rose by 7.2 percent up to $13.008 billion in the period.

The positive balance of foreign trade turnover increased by almost 20 times and amounted to $946 million.

A major part of exports accounted for Russia (15.5 percent), China (16 percent), Kazakhstan (7.8 percent), Turkey (6.2 percent), Afghanistan (4.3 percent) and Iran (1.9 percent).

Meanwhile, the big volume of import operations accounted for China (21 percent), Russia (20.8 percent), South Korea (9.5 percent), Kazakhstan (7.7 percent), Turkey (5.2 percent) and Germany (4.5 percent).
