Emirates NBD, one of the largest banking groups in the Middle East in terms of assets, will open a branch in Turkey, the Turkish media reported Jan. 17.
The corresponding negotiations are being held with the Turkish government. In case of approval, the bank's branch will open in the middle of this year.
Emirates NBD was established in 2007; its total capital is estimated at $121 billion.
Currently, 46 banks operate in Turkey, including 20 banks with foreign capital.
