Uzbekistan will adopt the law "On Innovative Activities" until December 1, 2018, the draft of which is put up for public discussion on the Single Portal for Interactive Public Services, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the country told Trend.

The document is aimed at creating effective mechanisms in the country for approbation, implementation and industrial development of promising scientific developments, providing additional incentives and benefits to enterprises developing and implementing innovative projects, primarily in high-tech industries.

The draft law envisages establishment of enterprises specializing in the implementation of innovative activities, including those related to small business and private entrepreneurship and mechanisms for their support and promotion.

The document will also regulate the procedure for transferring rights on intellectual property objects and technologies created by using funds from the state budget funds to developers, which will allow improving the approbation mechanism and stimulating the introduction and industrial development of promising scientific developments.

The Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan was established in late November 2017.

The Foundation for Support of Innovative Development and Innovative Ideas, created under the Ministry, was exempt from all taxes and payments, except for a single social payment and payment of mandatory contributions to state trust funds, including import of scientific and laboratory equipment, payment of customs duties.
