President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the new Boeing-787 Dreamliner airplane at the Tashkent international airport on his return from Washington, Uzbek media outlets reported.
The airliner, made of composite materials and ensuring fuel efficiency, is capable of making non-stop flights up to 14,000 kilometers. The airplane, equipped with smart technologies and comfortable interior, meets the demand for modern amenities.
Previously, Uzbekistan Airways purchased two such aircraft.
The Dreamliner was purchased after the order of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, given in February 2017. The airplane was delivered to Uzbekistan after the official visit of the head of state to the United States.
Mirziyoyev inspected the aircraft and got acquainted with its capabilities and conditions for the service.
Uzbek president also stressed the need to increase the volume of passenger transportation by the country’s national airlines, creating greater amenities.
Uzbekistan Airways recently signed an agreement with the national carrier and the American Boeing company. Uzbekistan’s fleet will be replenished with two more Dream liners in 2019 and in 2020.
