Operational freight turnover via Kazakhstan’s railways

The operating freight turnover through Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) joint stock company amounted to 125.9 billion ton-kilometers in January-July 2018, which is 8.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2017, the company said in a message.

Since early 2018, 144 million tons of cargo have been shipped, which is seven percent more than in 2017.

Moreover, since early 2018, 6.3 million tons of grain have been shipped, which is 45 percent more than in 2017, of which 4.7 million tons were exported, which is 1.9 times more than in 2017.

During the reporting period, 1.9 million tons of flour were shipped, which is three percent more than in 2017, of which 1.4 million tons were exported, which is three percent more than in 2017.

The cargo transportation volume amounted to 46.5 million tons, which is five percent more compared to the same period of 2017.

Volumes of shipment through the seaport of Aktau increased by 14 percent.
