Freight turnover of pipeline transport in Kazakhstan increased by 9 percent in January-July 2018, compared to the same period of last year, the Committee for Statistics of the Kazakh Ministry of National Economy said in a message Aug. 14.
“Besides, in the reporting period, freight turnover of railway transport increased by 10.9 percent and motor transport by 6.9 percent,” the message said.
In general, in Kazakhstan, freight turnover in January-July this year amounted to 333.565 billion ton-kilometers, which is 9.4 percent more than in the same period last year.
In January-July this year, passenger turnover reached 160.077 billion passenger-kilometers (a 5.4 percent growth compared to the same period last year).
The committee added that passenger transportation by road increased by 4.8 percent, by rail - by 5 percent and by air - by 18 percent.
