Uzbekistan to implement Russian experience in venture investment

The delegation of the Tashkent city (Uzbekistan) administration took part in the Open Innovations forum in Moscow, Uzbek media reported referring to the press service of the city administration.

During the first day of the forum, business meetings were held with several representatives of the technology sphere, in particular - the Skolkovo Foundation and the Russian Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF).

The IIDF is a venture investment fund. It was established by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives at the suggestion of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The fund provides investment to technology companies at early stages of development, conducts acceleration programs and participates in development of methods for the legal regulation of the venture capital industry.

To date, IIDF has 338 companies in the investment portfolio.

During the meeting, negotiations were held with representatives of the Fund, where the parties agreed on implementation of the Russian experience in the field of venture investment, creation of innovative infrastructure and participation of Uzbek start-ups in educational programs of the fund.
