Uzbekistan to establish Center for Chemical Technologies

The Center for Chemical Technologies will be established in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek media reported.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree on Measures for Accelerated Development of Chemical Industry in Uzbekistan.
The Center will be created in collaboration with the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT).
The Uzbek president instructed the State Committee for Investments, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and the Foreign Ministry to ensure attraction of a $50 million Eximbank loan through South Korea’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and grant funds to organize the Center’s activities.
Uzkimyosanoat JSC, together with the State Committee for Investments and the Finance Ministry, has been instructed within two months to submit to the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers proposals on the organization of the Center’s activities and define sources of financing its activities.
