Kazakh banks' assets exceed 24 trillion tenge

The volume of assets of Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks increased up to 24.5 trillion tenge in September, Finprom.kz reported.

This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to August and an annual growth of 0.4 percent.

The growth was ensured by the largest banks. The absolute leader in terms of monthly asset growth among the largest banks of Kazakhstan was ForteBank: growth of 8.1 percent up to 1.6 trillion tenge.

Sberbank was second: an increase of 6.2 percent for the month up to 1.8 trillion tenge, and Kaspi Bank was third: an increase of 3.4 percent to 1.6 trillion tenge.

As for the annual dynamics, the annual increase in ForteBank's assets amounted to 16.4 percent, Sberbank - 9.2 percent, and Kaspi Bank - 15.3 percent.

It is worth noting that currently there are 28 second-tier banks operating in Kazakhstan.

The official exchange rate on October 31 is 368.55 KZT/USD.
