The authorities of the North Kazakhstan region plan to start production of building materials, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

The remarks were made by the governor of the region Kumar Aksakalov during his visit to the construction sites of the regional center Petropavl.

"We import building materials, such as brick, crushed stone, metal tile and much more. We need to focus on local production of building materials. In 2018, the construction volume amounted to 80 billion tenge. This year we will increase the pace," he said.

Aksakalov noted that the North Kazakhstan region needs some 7-10 million bricks.

"They should be of local production, as well as metal tiles and other building materials. Production of local building materials is the task that we have to perform together with the builders this year," the governor of the region said.

In September 2019, a modern theater designed for 500 visitors will be commissioned in the Zhas Orken microdistrict of the North Kazakhstan region. According to the project manager Marat Mukashev, all building materials were produced in Kazakhstan.

Near the theater, a secondary school for 900 students is being built. Another school for 600 students is being constructed in the Bereke microdistrict.
