Industrial goods make 44% of exports of Iran's East Azerbaijan

In the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), exports of Iran's East Azerbaijan province amounted to $1.64 billion, Deputy Governor of East Azerbaijan Ali Jahangiri said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Industrial goods comprised 44 percent of the province's exports, he said.

After the industrial goods, agricultural products, goods exported by the Araz Free Trade Zone, chemicals and petrochemical products, metals, carpets and handicraft products, stone and mining products comprised the rest of the exports, he added.

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the province's non-oil exports have increased by 7 percent, Jahangiri said.

In the beginning of the current Iranian year, it was planned to increase the province's non-oil exports by 30 percent, Jahangiri said, adding that the 30 percent doesn't include exports of Sungun Copper Complex, and therefore, undoubtedly, this figure will be even higher at the end of the year.

The deputy governor stressed the importance of developing cooperation with other countries.

Exports of Iran's East Azerbaijan province are sent 98 countries, as well as the neighboring Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.
