In the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), the East Azerbaijan province of Azerbaijan exported agricultural products worth $195 million, Javad Zeynalimehr, an official with East Azerbaijan Organization of Agriculture Jihad, told reporters, Trend reports via ISNA.
He noted that compared to the same period of the previous year, there's 10.5 percent increase.
Research has shown that there has been relative increase in production in East Azerbaijan province, but necessary steps should be taken to increase the export of agricultural products, he noted.
Some necessary steps needed to be taken are the creation of infrastructure for safe transportation, organization of international trade and export training sessions, application of the relevant rules and government support for manufacturers and exporters.
