A powerful construction cluster is being created in the industrial area of the Ovadandepe town of Goktepe district of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The company “Turkmendemironumleri” for the production of metal rolling and fittings, a major gas concrete plant, a factory for processing marble and granite of the Turkmenmermer CJSC, which produces facing materials from local natural stone, already operate in the town.
The decision to also build the plant “Turkmenaynaonumleri” is conditioned by the prospect of creating the glass industry on the basis of own raw materials. The construction project is based on the float glass production technology used for the first time in Turkmenistan.
The list of products manufactured by facilities of the domestic construction industry in Turkmenistan includes facing stone, cement, brick, nonmetallic building materials, metal structures, plastic and fiberglass pipes.
Rich reserves of natural resources of Turkmenistan make it possible to increase the production of expanded clay, the main component for which is argillite extracted at the Yagman deposit in the Balkan region.
The priority direction of the building materials industry is the production of cement of various grades: Portland cement (sulphate-resistant cement) used in laying the foundations, building supports for bridges and other hydraulic structures, as well as oil-well cement for the oil and gas industry, the report said.
