Azerbaijani rice producer Astara Duyu plans to begin exporting its products, deputy director of the company Etibar Salimov told Trend on Fen. 19.
He noted that the export destinations will be markets of Arab countries, as well as the Russian market.
"We plan to start exporting in the second half of the year. The increase in rice production provides an opportunity for export, so we will try to make rational use of this chance. Delivery volumes depend on the orders of our foreign partners," Salimov said.
He added that Astara rice is currently sold domestically, mainly in Astara and Baku.
Salimov stressed that Astara rice is an environmentally friendly product and meets modern quality standards.
