World's largest undeveloped tin deposit to be launched in Kazakhstan

The world's largest undeveloped tin deposit will be launched in the North Kazakhstan region, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"The development of Syrymbet, the only tin deposit in Kazakhstan and the largest one in Central Asia, has been carried out for many years. Stripping work will begin in May this year," the Governor of the North Kazakhstan region Kumar Aksakalov said at a reporting meeting with the population.

He noted that investments will reach 4 billion tenge this year, and the total amount of investments will be 100 billion tenge. Full commissioning of the deposit will be completed in 2021.

Aksakalov added that the launch of the deposit "will be a great success for the North Kazakhstan region".

It should be noted that the development of the Syrymbet deposit is carried out by Tin One Mining company. Shareholders of the company are Berkut Mining LLP (75 percent) and Samruk-Kazyna JSC (25 percent).
