By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

A decrease in demand has been observed in the construction market of Azerbaijan in the last two or three years, Mahammad Najafli, the head of Azerbaijani construction company "Inshaat Construction", told Trend.

Presently, the volume of orders of "Inshaat Construction" for the construction of private houses, villas, as well as the repair of buildings has decreased by 80 percent, Najafli noted.

"Our work is carried out on the basis of orders that come to us from individuals, from firms, and the state. Currently, we are practically inactive, because there are no calls, no orders. To a certain extent, this is associated with the seasonal factor, since the greatest number of orders falls on the spring and summer period. Nevertheless, if compared to previous years, the situation in the construction market has changed a lot," the head of the company said.

He noted that "Inshaat Construction" felt a decrease in demand since the end of 2016, and added if that year the company completed 10-15 orders related to construction and repair work, in the next two years the figure dropped to 2-3.

The situation that has been observed since early 2019 does not inspire optimism either, he added.
