Tehran, Iran, April 15

Trend:

Of some 3,000 containers with auto parts stored at the warehouses of Iranian Customs, 1,000 containers will be released within a maximum of two or three weeks, Trend reports via Mehr.

"At the Chabahar Customs, more than 3,000 containers with auto parts have been stored from last year (ended on March 21), 2,000 of them have been delivered to the auto industry of Iran already," said the General director of Chabahar customs Azizollah Shams.

“The remaining containers were to be cleared in April, but, due to some problems, the clearance will take place within a maximum of 2 or 3 weeks,” he added.

He explained that the issue with clearance has to do with available trucks to take the auto parts.

"Given that Chabahar is currently in the watermelon-harvesting season, trucks are busy with watermelon transportation. That's the only problem that remains," he said.

"Currently, we do not have any stored products at Customs' warehouses. According to the orders of the Customs Administration, especially in the case of basic goods such as rice and meat, there should be no restriction in clearing those items," said Shams.
