The Azerbaijani company Agrovita, engaged in importing hybrid seeds and fertilizers, as well as selling them in the local market, has purchased a big cargo of seeds from abroad, director of the company Nizami Heybatov told Trend.

He said that the company mainly imports hybrid varieties of tomato seeds from the Netherlands and Spain.

“We sell hybrid varieties of seeds to greenhouse complexes and farms,” he noted. “Hybrid varieties of pink tomato seeds are in greatest demand. This variety is bought in big cargoes by farms and greenhouses.”

He added that the company is also engaged in the wholesale of mineral fertilizers.

“Demand in this segment is also increasing, we are receiving offers, so we plan to increase imports to 20-30 percent by the end of the year and, accordingly, increase sales of the company’s products in Azerbaijan,” he said.
