Austrian business explores possibility of implementing joint projects in Turkmenistan

Austrian business delegate in the countries of Central Asia Rudolf Thaler visited the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), Trend reports with reference to UIET.

During the meeting, plans for expanding interaction between the business circles of the two countries in a number of areas were discussed.

Interest was expressed in continuing the practice of holding joint business forums, exhibitions and meetings that facilitate the promotion of bilateral commercial ties and the implementation of new interesting projects, the report says

The meeting participants were unanimous in their opinion that economic cooperation should be replenished by joint projects and cooperation with a special focus on innovation and high technologies.

Austria is evaluating local projects in the field of agricultural processing and food production. The possibilities of participation in projects for the construction of livestock farms in Turkmenistan, along with the supply of equipment for the production of meat and dairy products, are being considered.

Negotiations are underway for establishing business contacts between Turkmenistan’s Rysgal Joint-Stock Commercial Bank and Raiffeisen Bank International, a leading corporate and investment bank in Austria and in Central and Eastern Europe.

Companies such as WOMA GmbH, Schoeller Bleckmann AG, Unger Stahlbau GmbH, Schrack Seconet AG, Oswelt GmbH, AME Interhational, Landhof, Schlafhorst, Truetzschler, Uster, and Strabag SE show interest in the Turkmen market.

A representative office of UIET has been operating in Vienna since June 2017.
