Swiss company Rieter offers three of its major products in Uzbekistan and there is potential for export to neighboring countries, Group Secretary and General Counsel of Rieter Thomas Anwander told Trend in an interview.

Recently, Trend reported that Rieter plans to supply technological equipment worth over $100 million to the Uzbek market in 2019.

“Cooperation always means benefits for both parties. We strongly believe that cooperation of Rieter with Uzbekistan is beneficial both for local manufacturers and the country as a whole,” Anwander said.

He stated that in 2011 Rieter established a production unit in Uzbekistan. Since then, the plant organized manufacturing of ring-spinning, carding and drawframe machines. To boost localization of machine components, they set up a partnership with JV Metal Processing a cutting-edge sheet metal manufacturing plant in Uzbekistan, which is the only supplier in Uzbekistan to provide high-precision Swiss quality sheet metal manufacturing services.

“Cutting-edge Rieter equipment coupled with trained personnel and high quality products increases competitiveness of local spinning mills, resulting in higher exports and revenues. Rieter supports local Uzbek manufacturers in identifying potential customers through its wide network of partners around the world,” he noted.

Recently, Rieter has presented new financing opportunities for local manufacturing companies in textile industry interested in equipping their spinning mills with Rieter machinery.

This new mechanism is a step towards establishing strategic relations and long-lasting cooperation between the “Uztextile” Association and Swiss banks as well as insurance companies.

Furthermore, we have established long-term cooperation with the local textile industry – around 300 companies throughout Uzbekistan. Today we have a wide network of service centers in Fergana valley, Tashkent and Bukhara regions providing effective and stable service to spinning mills in Uzbekistan,” Anwander said.

He also added that Uzbekistan has a great potential in textile industry, therefore, Rieter works closely with local manufactures and national partners in implementing new projects in textile industry – from the very inception phase to commissioning of spinning mills.

“Once the projects are live, Rieter continues to support spinning mills through tailored customer trainings and reliable after-sales service,” he said.

Rieter is the world’s leading supplier of systems for short-staple fiber spinning. Based in Winterthur (Switzerland), the company develops and manufactures machinery, systems and components used to convert natural and man-made fibers and their blends into yarns.

The company is the only supplier worldwide to cover both spinning preparation processes and all four end spinning processes currently established on the market. Furthermore, Rieter is a leader in the field of precision winding machines. With 16 manufacturing locations in ten countries, the company employs a global workforce of some 5,150, about 20 percent of whom are based in Switzerland.
