In June, 2019, the decline in the average price level in the consumer market of Uzbekistan was registered; deflation for the month was 0.5 percent, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Prices for goods decreased by 0.8 percent, including by 1.8 percent for food products. Non-food products became more expensive in the past month by 0.6 percent, services rose in price by 0.7 percent.
In general, in January-June, goods and services in the consumer market became more expensive by 5.6 percent. As compared with June 2018, the average price level in the consumer sector increased by 13.6 percent.
For the first half of the year, foodstuffs went up by 5.9 percent, non-food products rose in price by 5.2 percent and the price for services increased by 5.3 percent.
In annual terms (June 2019 compared to June 2018), food products became more expensive, rising by 16.3 percent, non-food products rose in price by 10.9 percent and the price for services increased by 12.9 percent.
Among foodstuffs, non-alcoholic beverages (1.4 percent) and meat products (0.8 percent), as well as alcoholic beverages and catering (0.7 percent) hold leading positions in price increases in June.
Prices for fruits and vegetables have decreased: fresh tomatoes (by 57.2 percent), cucumbers (by 52.1 percent) and etc.
Of the main groups of non-food products in June, the prices for fuel for cars rose most significantly, by 2.1 percent, fabrics and yarn by 1.3 percent and household textiles by 1 percent.
Among paid services to the population, the prevailing rise in prices and tariffs for the month was registered for medical services (2.4 percent), passenger transport services (1.4 percent) and personal services (1.3 percent).
