Russian enterprise “Krasny Oktyabr” plans to supply high-quality metal for the construction of nuclear power plant (NPP) in Navoi region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the company.

Recently, representatives of the metallurgical plant held a series of successful negotiations in Uzbekistan. Business meetings were held in the framework of the business mission of the Russian Volgograd region to Uzbekistan.

Following its results, the parties agreed on the start of cooperation. Now models of interaction with commercial and government organizations are being formed.

"The construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan begins in Navoi region. Considering the experience of Krasny Oktyabr in supplying high-quality metal products for the nuclear power industry, this trip was extremely important for our company," Executive Director of the Russian company Alexander Sivakov said.

"We are focused on participating in this ambitious project and we have all capabilities for this," he added.

During the Soviet Union and the 2000s, the steel of special purpose produced at the Krasny Oktyabr occupied a serious niche in the market of Uzbekistan, but several years ago trade relations were interrupted. Now the Volgograd enterprise increases production volumes and is aimed at expanding the market.

"During the business mission, representatives of the Krasny Oktyabr visited two large machine-building enterprises in the Khorezm region including Uzbek-Chinese UzXCMG and General Motors Uzbekistan (currently Uzauto motors). They are interested in purchasing steel for special purposes. The delegates also met with representatives of the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources,” the press service of the enterprise noted.

Currently, Krasny Oktyabr is working out the details of cooperation with Uzbek enterprises.
