Uzbekistan and Russia will resolve the issues of transportation to or from third countries, which has remained relevant since 2016, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek media.

The topic was discussed in Moscow during the meeting of Russian-Uzbek joint commission on the issues of international road transport. The participants of the meeting noted the successful development of bilateral trade and significant increase of cargo road transport between countries. The volume of import transport increased by 29 percent, whereas of export by 75.7 percent.

Taking into consideration the current necessity of national transporters, the decision to increase contingent of permissions on implementation of transport to and from third countries to 5,000 permissions in 2019 was made.

In order to create favorable conditions for development of transport of two countries, the delegation agreed on the preliminary contingent of 6,000 permissions for 2020.

These new agreements allow to lift quotas from issuing Uzbek permissions on entering third countries. These agreements will soon be reviewed by Ministry of Transport of Russia. Thus, questions with shortage of permission when transporting cargo and the necessity of Russian transporters for Uzbek route will be fully satisfied.

Within the framework of negotiations, the sides also discussed regular passenger transport between two countries and provided relevant information on the issuance of permission for regular international bus routes functioning.
