Tehran, Iran, July 22

Trend:

Iran's Customs Administration has announced new tariff regulations on crypto currency mining hardware imports across the country.

The customs tariff for imports of crypto currency mining hardware is in the same category as PIN pad and POS machines, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

The announcement shows that the issue of Bitcoin mining hardware and other crypto currencies is seriously pursued by the Iranian government.

The managing director of Iran Blockchain Community has recently said that Chinese miners have requested bitcoin mining in Iran's free zones.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology has commented on the news of Iran issuing permit to Chinese miners to organize crypto currency mining during the 25th Iran International Electronic, Computer & E-Commerce Exhibition.

"I have not read the news, but there have been discussions about mining crypto currency," Javad Azari Jahromi told Trend.

"We have expressed our views on mining digital currency. We can export cyber power, but not in peak hours. As a matter of fact, mining bitcoin is a kind of cyber export of electricity that can create revenues," he noted.
