Eurasian Development Bank to participate in Kazakh Kuryk port development

Major Kazakhstan’s Kuryk port and Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) are to sign a memorandum on cooperation for further development of the port, Trend reports with reference to press office of the bank.

The decision was made during the visit of Deputy Chairman of the EDB’s Management Board Amangeldy Issenov and EDB’s Managing Director for Business Development Asem Kernebayev to the port.

“Following the end of the meeting with CEO of Kuryk port Serik Akhmetov the decision to develop possible ways for EDB to fund port’s development plan realization was made. In the future parties plan on signing a corresponding memorandum,” the report said.

The Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial institution established to promote economic growth in its member states, extend trade and economic ties among them, and support integration in Eurasia through investment.

Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The Port has a direct access to the railway tracks. The ferry complex of the port is designed for transshipment of goods, including seeds, petroleum products, fertilizers and chemicals.
