Turkish company may organize footwear production in Uzbekistan

Uzcharmsanoat Association hosted a meeting with Merchandizing Manager of a Turkish company DeFacto Onur Bilici, at which prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation, and, in particular, for the production of shoes commissioned by the Turkish company were discussed, Trend reports with reference on the Uzbek media.

Onur Bilici spoke about the potential of DeFacto, which is one of the largest clothing manufacturers in Turkey, along with such well-known brands as LC Waikiki and Koton. The guest was informed about current potential of Uzbekistan in the leather-footwear and fur industries, as well as about tax and customs benefits and preferences granted to enterprises of the industry.

The parties exchanged their views on the subject and reached an agreement on the creation, on the basis of outsourcing, the production of shoes in Uzbekistan on the basis of existing enterprises manufacturing shoe products.

As part of the agreement, a working trip of a potential foreign partner is planned to study Uzbek shoe enterprises.

De Facto opened its first store in 2005 and expanded its business through production of casual wear for young people at affordable prices. It currently has 324 trading companies in Turkey and 123 stores in 27 foreign countries.
