Food prices increase in Kazakhstan

The cost of food products during first seven months of 2019 increased by six percent in Kazakhstan, non-food products by 2.4 percent, paid services by 0.7 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan.

Thus, the increase of price is observed on millet by 43.9 percent, rice by 15.7 percent, flour by 15.4 percent, bread by 9 percent, fruits and vegetables by 8.9 percent, pasta by 7.9 percent, hard curd cheese by 6.2 percent, bakeries and flour products by 5.2 percent, tea by 4.3 percent, confectionery by 3.7 percent.

Among the meat types the price increase is observed on mutton by 11.1 percent, frozen fish by 9.7 percent, horse meat by 8.8 percent, beef by 7.4 percent, pork by 6.8 percent, poultry meat by 6.2 percent, meat products by 5.7 percent, sausages by 4.4 percent.

Furthermore, the pricing of tobacco products went up by 10 percent, soft drinks by 8.9 percent and alcoholic beverages by 5.6 percent.

In contrast the decrease of pricing is observed on cucumbers by 56.2 percent, tomatoes by 28.7 percent, cabbage by 14.5 percent, eggs by 12.1 percent, raw milk by 4.6 percent, sugar by 2.7 percent, cottage cheese by 2.4 percent, buckwheat by two percent.
