Tehran, Iran, Sept. 26
Trend:
Iran is expected to offer pistachio at its stock exchange to improve domestic and export markets, however two major issues of commodity size and costs still remain, said the head of Iran Pistachio Association, said Mohammad Salehi, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"Offering pistachio at the exchange can improve the domestic and export market significantly, " said Mohammad Salehi, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"One of the major issues is that customers and suppliers should pay 2 to 3 percent costs of trading at the exchange that include costs of storage," he said.
"Since the trade profit of pistachio exports is 3 percent, some businessmen are not inclined to buy pistachio from the exchange, since the volume of trade profit is equal to costs of trading at the exchange," he added.
"Businessmen prefer to purchase their pistachio from the free market so they would not be forced to pay the costs of the exchange," he said.
