Georgia increases domestic export

In 2019, exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled $3.7 billion, 12.4 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

As reported, share of the domestic exports in total export constituted 62.4 percent and amounted to $2.3 billion, 5.7 percent higher year-on-year.

Last year, the domestic exports from Georgia to the EU countries stood at $736.6 million, 17.2 percent higher compared to 2018 and reached 31.3 percent in total domestic exports.

In 2019, the exports from Georgia to the EU countries amounted to $825.7 million (13 percent higher compared to 2018) and constituted 21.9 percent of total exports.

The domestic exports to the CIS countries stood at $855.2 million (10 percent higher compared to 2018) and reached 36.4 percent of total domestic exports. The exports to the CIS countries stood at $2 billion (20 percent higher compared to 2018) and reached 53.1 percent of total exports.

In 2019, the share of the top ten trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 76.2 percent. The top three partners were Russia ($432.3 million), Bulgaria ($281.6 million) and China ($207 million).

In 2019, copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling $651.6 million, or 27.7 percent of total exports.

The exports of ferroalloys totaled $302.1 million, with a share in the total exports amounting to 12.8 percent. The wine exports occupied the third place standing at $21.6 million and constituting 9.4 percent of the total exports.
