New agricultural complex opens in Georgia

A new agricultural complex was opened in the Shuakhevi municipality of Georgian Adjara, Trend reports citing EastFruit information and analytical platform.

As reported, this complex combines a greenhouse for the production of seedlings of agricultural crops, two seedling farms, a veterinary clinic, as well as a store of fertilizers and plant protection products.

The project was implemented as part of the subprogram “Promotion of the development of nurseries of seedlings, veterinary clinics in highland Adjara” of the program “Development of agricultural services in the region”, financed from the budget of Adjara.

“These nurseries of seedlings will be focused on the production of high-quality, certified, virus-free, environmentally friendly high-yield seedlings of fruit trees and seedlings of vegetable crops, and will serve farmers and agricultural producers of highland Adjara,” the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara said.

The greenhouse of 700 square meters included in the agricultural complex is equipped with drip irrigation, heating and ventilation systems.

Sapling plants specialize in growing seedlings of fruit trees and grapes.

The veterinary clinic includes a pharmacy, laboratory, and meeting room.

“This agricultural complex will serve the municipalities of Keda, Shuakhevi and Khulo. In fact, there is a demand from the population, which is why this complex was arranged. Farmers will receive services on favorable terms,” said the Minister of Agriculture of Adjara Tite Aroshidze at the opening ceremony of the agricultural complex.

“The state will continue to create complexes of modern standards as much as possible to ensure even greater development of the agricultural sector, creating great opportunities for farmers,” the Chairman of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze emphasized during the ceremony.
