Medicines export from Georgia to Azerbaijan down

Azerbaijan imported 878.4 tons of medicines worth $27.34 million from Georgia in 2019, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Import of medicines to Azerbaijan from Georgia has decreased by 2.5 times as compared to 2018.
Azerbaijan imported 2,171 tons of medicines worth $32.81 million from Georgia in 2018.
The volume of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia amounted to $1.05 billion in 2019, which is $36.9 million or 3.4 percent less compared to 2018. This figure amounted to $1.09 billion last year.
Azerbaijan accounts for 8.1 percent of Georgia’s total trade turnover.
Georgia imported goods and products from Azerbaijan in the amount of $559.13 million in 2019, or 5.7 percent less compared to the previous year.
Georgia's export to Azerbaijan totaled $498.70 million. This is 0.7 percent more compared to 2018.
The negative balance reached $60.42 million in the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan. In annual terms this indicator decreased by 33.4 percent. The negative balance amounted to $90.691 million in 2018.
