Georgia will begin producing black caviar in 2020, Trend reports via Georgian media.
As reported, Georgia will introduce the product on the local market in March 2020.
The country also plans to export the caviar, but manufacturers do not specify the plan details.
Black caviar production will be carried out in Gurjaani and Sagarejo.
"Caviar production is a very complicated process that requires huge investments. However, we expect to produce about 100 kilograms of caviar by spring of 2020,” Co-founder of Georgian Roe company Alexander Dadianidze said.
Georgian Roe company has owned two fish farms in Gori district for 17 years.
The company produces about 2 tons of roe per year.
The company has invested more than 3.8 million lari ($1.3 million) in the production and employs 60 people.
