Exports of products via  Iran's Arvand Free Trade Zone announced

A total of $1.22 billion worth of products were exported via Arvand Free Trade Zone of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Deputy Director of Business Development and Investment of Arvand Free Zone Organization Ali Mousavi, Trend reports citing official website of Organization.

According to Mousavi, the value of products produced and exported from the Arvand trade zone exceeded $220 million last Iranian year.

Mousavi added that chemicals worth $70 million, fish products worth $75 million, steel products worth $30 million were the main exported products.

The official said that about $1 billion worth of products were exported through the Arvand Free Trade Zone.

"As many as 20 trillion rials (about $476 million) was invested in the Arvand Free Trade Zone," he said.

Mousavi said that it is planned that more 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) will be invested in the zone in the current Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020).

According to the official, 10 enterprises were restored in the zone last year. Thus, the number of manufacturing enterprises operating in the Arvand Free Trade Zone has reached 180.

The Arvand Free Trade Zone is located in the northwest of the Persian Gulf.
