Azerbaijani metal processing plant upgrades production line

Khirdalan Steel Construction Plant, owned by Azerbaijan’s Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC, improved its production line to boost up the total production capacity, an internal source told Trend.

According to the source, the matter is about the production line of lathes designed for welding and sharpening of steel blanks.

“The new production line was launched in January, and the modernization process was completed in April 2020. In this regard, the plant enhances work on raising output of the key metal products,” the source said. “Annual production of the plant amounts to 3,600 tons. It is planned to raise the output volume to 4,000 tons of metals per year by the end of 2020."

The enterprise also boosts production capability of induction furnaces with a capacity of 1,000 and 2,000 tons, cold rolled machines, as well as auxiliary tools for metal casting, heat treatment furnaces, equipment for cooling metal products by hot sand and other auxiliary tools for metal casting.

Khirdalan Steel Construction Plant has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2015.

Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation OJSC was established in August 2010 and operates in two segments including construction and production.

In particular, the corporation is a contractor for domestic and foreign projects on the reconstruction of road transport infrastructure, as well as water supply and sanitation system.

The total staff involved in the reconstruction projects is about 5,000.

The main goal of the corporation is to participate in significant local and regional projects, expand the boundaries of activities outside Azerbaijan and develop as a transnational corporation, competitive at the world level.
