Ambassador of Canada to Turkmenistan Ashraf Hohar expressed readiness to take every effort to reach sustainable development of Turkmen-Canadian relations.
Hohar made the remark during a videoconference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, Trend reports with reference to the ministry.
During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of establishing long-term cooperation in various areas and discussed cooperation prospects in trade, economy, education, preventive diplomacy and other spheres.
The sides also discussed ways to overcome the coronavirus pandemic. The initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to create a Council of medical scientists to address the issue was considered.
Earlier, representatives of Turkmenistan and Canada discussed the consequences of the impact of the pandemic on the world economy.
