The products export through the customs of the South Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) increased by 97 percent in terms of value and 28 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last Iranian year during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020), Director General of South Khorasan Customs Department Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The director general said that 677,000 tons of products worth more than $130 million were exported during the period.
According to him, the products were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Taiwan.
Khashi noted that the exported products were mainly vegetables, diesel, light hydrocarbons, peas, ceramics, eggs and salt and etc.
The director general stressed that 73 tons of products worth $122,000 were imported through the customs of South Khorasan Province during 3 months.
"The products imports decreased by 100 percent in terms of value and 88 percent in terms of weight," he said.
Khashi said that the imported products were mainly masks, sheep, clover seeds and spare parts for a number of equipment.
