Iran discloses details of exports of Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29

As many as 1.8 million tons of products worth $978 million were exported from the Markazi Province of Iran in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - March 20, 2020), said Jafar Asghari Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Markazi Province, Trend reports citing the organization.

Asghari emphasized that exports of the province decreased by 18 percent in terms of weight and 2 percent in terms of value compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

He added that the cost of each ton of exported products from the province was about $543.

“The province’s products were mainly exported to Iraq ($352 million), Afghanistan ($331 million), Turkey ($99 million), Pakistan ($62 million), the UAE ($19 million), Uzbekistan ($18 million) and Azerbaijan ($10 million), Turkmenistan ($8 million) and Italy ($6 million),” he said.

The deputy chairman said that the exported products were mainly various hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, aluminum ingots, fruit juice, various bottles, fittings and so on.

Asghari noted that last year, the province imported 180,000 tons of products worth $470 million. The imports increased by 10 percent in terms of weight and 17 percent in terms of value compared to the preceding Iranian year.

The official said that the cost of each ton of imported products to the province was about $2,614.

"The imported products were mainly raw materials, spare parts, fruit juice ingredients and packages for industrial enterprises, compressors, etc.," he said.
