BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

If the phases of Der Alo and Darazar mines in the Kerman Province (southeastern Iran) are commissioned, the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) will increase its revenues by minimum 40 trillion rials (about $952 million) and its net profit by 20 trillion rials (about $476 million), Managing Director of the company Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

Sad Mohammadi said that at present, the value of shares of the NICICO is 2.8 quadrillion rials (about $66.6 billion).

"However, this figure was 720 trillion rials (about $17.1 billion) at the end of last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020)," he said.

The director emphasized the price of copper on the world market decreased by about $1,000 in the first three months of current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 1 ton of copper was sold at $5,207 this year. However, this figure was $6.210 in the same period last Iranian year.

"Despite all this, the sales of the NICICO increased by 25 percent," he said.

The sale value of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company was 34.3 trillion rials (about $817 million) in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2020). In the second month, the company's sales amounted to 27.7 trillion rials (about $660 million).
